“I rested for a couple of weeks, went back to training and it pulled again”.
Does this sound familiar to you?
If you’ve suffered with a pull, niggle or ache (soft tissue injury) resting it in the short term, may allow the discomfort to settle, however if you do nothing else and return back to exercise it’s unlikely that the injured tissue has regained sufficient strength/stamina/capacity to deal with high levels of load and re-injury is highly probable.
With any soft tissue injury you need to be completing a graded strengthening programme, progressively building more resilience into the soft tissue you’ve strained.
If you’re struggling with an injury which isn’t getting better or stuck for ideas of how to progressively strengthen an injury get in touch.
